Serial Entrepreneur

If you live in the UK or Ireland, you’ll know who Del Boy is. If you don’t, then make sure you find out! He’s the best-known “serial entrepreneur” who never quite made it. Every week on the show, he and Rodney would have yet another plan to get to their goal: "This time next year we'll be millionaires.". Although he was not always successful, his general optimism and confidence would often persuade people to believe in him. Those are traits that all entrepreneurs should have – especially about their own products or services.

Today I’m talking to our very own “serial entrepreneur”, COO of IPA Group, Aaron Ocampo.

Q: Aaron, when did you first start your own business and what was it?

A: In October 2011 I started a robotic courses for children with my then business partner.

Q: What support did you have from friends/family/others at that time?

A: The majority of them supported me verbally but that was it. No economic support at all.

Q: Was the Robotics course a success and why?

A: No (laughs). Lack of support.

Q: What happened after that?

A: We (my partner at that time and I) changed the subject of the company to a technology developing company.

Q: When did you start IPA Group and why?

A: IPA Group started 5 months ago because I wanted to bring together two of our brands, IPA Solutions UK and IPA Solutions MX to give us a global vision.

Q: Do you have any side projects at the minute?

A: Yes, I have two other associations to bring the same products that I already have, but with another perspective, like a consulting package, and an economic way to sell one of our services.

Q: What do you enjoy most about being an entrepreneur?

A: My schedule, no need to go to an office at a certain time or leave at a certain time. Being able to choose my own work hours.

Q: What advice would you give to anyone starting out on their own?

A: Be very thorough in your projections and vision, because where you want to go is the effort you need to put into it.

Thank you Aaron.
