Out with the old, in with the new

At the beginning of every year we take time to think back over the past 12 months, wonder where the time has gone, and start making plans for the next 12 months. Most of the time we reminisce with fondness about past events, although for some of us there are some sad memories in that time also. It’s also a time that the old adage “Out with the old, in with the new” is mentioned by many.


For IPA Group, the past 12 months have been a time of growth. We said goodbye to one team member but welcomed two others in her place. We have had many allies joining us in the past 12 months also, and we thank them for choosing to work with us. These past 12 months have also seen our new branding, redesign of our logo, website etc, and we have welcomed all those changes as we continue to move forward.


And now as we enter 2017, we also begin to wonder where this new year will take us. It will be our 2nd anniversary soon, and we are aware that many other start-ups don’t even make it this far. We all enjoy the work we do, there is something different everyday, and that keeps us on our toes also. We are continually upskilling to be able to bring the newest advances in technology to our allies, whether through strategies, design or delivery. All of this is what we KNOW will happen in 2017, but there are many more uncertainties.


During 2016, social media, search algorithms etc. all changed constantly, and keeping up with those changes was always forefront in our planning. We’re sure that 2017 will be no different when it comes to constant changes, so we’ll continue to be on our toes, looking out for the best strategies, best platforms, best solutions for our allies, both current and future ones. But how far in advance can you really plan? When it comes to digital strategy, we recommend that you plan daily, weekly and monthly to start with. Some platforms aren’t changing as rapidly as others, so if you’re on one of those, your strategy might be able to stay static for a couple of months, however it should never become stagnant. On every platform we recommend a monthly review of analytics and strategies.
