Is your address correct?

You know what it’s like these days – you need to go somewhere new, so you turn on your navigation system (like Google Maps) and you depend on it to get you to where you want/need to go. Well, recently I’ve noticed that a number of businesses haven’t updated their details and I end up lost, and even worse, late.

 

And it’s not just the address being wrong. Some businesses haven’t registered their change of name or opening hours with services like Google, even though it’s easy and takes very little time to do it. We were recently in Scotland visiting family and fancied a Chinese takeaway, so we searched via Maps and a number of options came up – 3 said they were open when they weren’t, one had closed down but remained active on Maps, one had changed name and menu, and only one, out of the 6 options we were presented with by the navigation app, actually had all the details correct.

 

In this digital day and age, it’s more and more important to have your details correct online. Clients have less and less time (and patience) to search and make sure they find you. They’ll move on to your competitors in the blink of an eye (or the swipe of a thumb in this case) before they’ll waste any more time trying to find you, no matter how good your reviews are.

 

So, rather than losing potential clients, make sure your details are correct. Take a trial run using your own phone to see what your customers see.
